The Swiss Water Protection Ordinance (GSchV) requires municipalities to monitor their wastewater assets regularly - leak testing after site acceptance, periodic condition assessment, documented rehabilitation measures. Our reports are set up in the format cantonal authorities (AWEL Zurich, BVU Aargau, DAR Lucerne and others) expect to see during audits: damage class, measure, date, responsible person, evidence.

Common damage patterns in the public sewer network
The damage patterns we most often encounter in municipal networks - and how we prioritise them after classification:
Root ingress (Z1-Z3)
Above all along streets with old tree alleys. Classified by flow impact. Z1-Z2: routine root removal with a specialised cutter nozzle. Z3: short liner to seal the entry point.
Offsets and settlement damage (Z2-Z5)
Common on slopes, at shaft connections or under heavy traffic. Z2-Z3: inliner for longer sections. Z4-Z5: trench rehabilitation or pipe bursting on structural failure - rare, but seen on old stoneware main lines.
Material corrosion (Z2-Z4)
Old concrete and Eternit lines, above all at transitions and in areas with aggressive wastewater constituents (industrial or commercial discharge). Spraylining restores a corrosion-resistant inner surface - the most economical solution where the structural shell is still intact.
Sludge and grease deposits (Z0-Z2)
Maintenance rather than rehabilitation. Common in residential neighbourhoods with apartment buildings and in commercial zones. Regular jetting under the maintenance framework contract substantially reduces the risk of backflow damage.

The cost depends on network length, method depth and dispatch frequency. A municipality with 10 km of public sewer network and an annual jetting need sits in a different range from a city with 100+ km. Before contract signing we prepare a written detailed quote with clear service positions and unit prices per linear metre or shaft.
Are you GSchV compliant and audit-ready?
Yes. All reports are prepared in line with the Swiss Water Protection Ordinance (GSchV). Cantonal data is exported in the formats your municipality requires - we align with your works commission or building department before contract start.
Which certifications do you hold?

Do you take over ongoing rehabilitation programmes?
Yes. Handover typically takes 30-60 days - review of existing sewer register, damage documentation, current supplier contracts. We actively coordinate with the previous provider when handover information is required.
What does your reporting to the municipal council look like?
As standard we deliver an annual written activity report for the municipal council or works commission: jobs by neighbourhood, identified damage with classification, recommendations for the following-year budget, GSchV compliance status. On request additional quarterly reports or special sessions.
Which methods do you use for rehabilitating public sewers?
Inliner (cured-in-place lining) for whole line sections, short liners for point damage, spraylining for long corrosion stretches, pipe bursting or classic trench rehabilitation only where the structure has failed.
